How to Add a New Device to the eWeLink App (Quick Start Guide)

If you've just purchased a smart device that works with the eWeLink platform, you're only a few quick steps away from getting it up and running. This guide will walk you through the setup process so you can start controlling your device right from your phone.
Step 1: Download the eWeLink App
Head over to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and search for eWeLink - Smart Home. Download and install the app on your phone.
Step 2: Create an eWeLink Account
Open the app and register for a new account. All you need is a valid email address and a password. Once registered, sign in.
Step 3: Prepare for Device Setup
Before you begin adding your device, make sure the following are ready:
- Your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (not 5GHz).
- Location Services are enabled on your phone.
- Bluetooth is turned on.
⚠️ Many smart devices only support 2.4GHz networks. If you're not sure which you're on, check your router settings or switch to a 2.4GHz network manually.
Step 4: Start Adding Your Device
- Open the eWeLink app.
- Tap the blue "+" icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Select "Add Device".
- Confirm your Wi-Fi network name and password are correct, then tap Next.
Step 5: Pair the Device
The app will now search for nearby devices in pairing mode.
- Once your device appears in the list, tap the blue "+" icon next to it.
- Tap Next.
- Wait for the green tick to appear next to your device.
- Tap Next again.
Step 6: Finish Setup
- Tap Done to complete the process.
- Your new device will now appear in the main dashboard of the eWeLink app.
From here, you can:
- Turn the device on/off.
- Rename it.
- Add it to a room or scene.
- Set timers, schedules, and more.
