How to Fix the E2 Error on Your eWeLink Thermostat – No External Sensor Needed
Share
If you're using your thermostat as a standalone unit or integrating it into a larger smart heating setup—like our JYNT 8-Zone Radiator Control System—you might see an E2 error pop up in the eWeLink app. Don’t worry—it’s a quick fix.
This error simply means the thermostat is expecting an external NTC temperature sensor, which you may not be using.
Here's how to resolve it:
Open your thermostat’s manual and go to Page 5 > Section 8 > Code 4.
- Turn off the thermostat,
- press " M " and "Clock" buttons at the same time for 5 seconds to enter the advanced features setting,
- press "M" button For function selection, press "UP" and "DOWN" to adjust individual functions.
- press M until you see Mode 4 , set this using the UP and DOWN arrows to AL: Internal/External Sensor (Internal sensor to control the temp., external sensor to limit the temp
- All high level option settings will take effect automatically after restarting the thermostat
That’s it. The E2 error will clear, and the app will correctly show the system status—Heating, Idle, or Off—based on the internal temperature sensor.
